Job description

What You Will Do:

  • Design and execute test methods, fixtures, and protocols to verify performance and reliability of products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop test plans, analyze data, perform root-cause investigations and implement continuous improvements to testing processes and equipment.
  • Learn and apply industry standards, statistical tools and advanced test techniques to assess durability, fatigue life, and reliability to ensure a high-quality product verification and validation.
  • Apply basic engineering principles to design virtual and mechanical test methods and fixtures, under guidance, incorporating input from design teams and test technicians. 
  • Assist in preparing specifications for product safety and performance testing (i.e. creation of test plans and complex test protocols).
  • Support product verification and validation activities for new product development (NPD) and/or sustaining current product portfolios (PE).
  • Support design, fabrication, and data acquisition activities throughout the test lab.
  • Aid in setting up test processes, equipment, procedures, statistical techniques, and testing mechanisms. Support design teams in analyzing the acquired data and any failures to provide actionable information to improve design quality.

What You Will Need:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Exposure to programs such as LabVIEW, Pro-Engineer, ANSIS, Nastran, and/or the use of dynamic analytical methods/tools for determination of forces and loads.
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate effectively within cross-function teams both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Test Lab, test systems, testing practices and/or test procedures experience.
  • Ability to learn and operate data acquisition and test control systems under guidance.
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate effectively within cross-function teams both verbally and in writing.
  • Eagerness to assist internal and external customers in a broad range of efforts associated with product development and testing.
  • Exposure to programs such as LabVIEW, Pro-Engineer, ANSIS, Nastran, and/or the use of dynamic analytical methods/tools for determination of forces and loads.
