Job description

CNC Engineer will combine technical expertise, programming skills, drawing details  interpretation to create accurate and efficient CNC for manufacturing processes. Role success will be gauged by this individual’s contribution in coaching the engineering team to effectively meet and/or exceed transferred product metrics including product cost, process performance and time to market. Expected experience from Turning, Swiss Turning and Milling CNC processes.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  •  Interpreting project drawings to determine part specific requirements.

  • Collaborating with engineering team members across department to ensure CNC programs aligns with project requirements.

  • CNC machines setup to configure production - including required tools, fixtures, gauging and work instruction preparation.

  • Setup Sheet definition and release to production.

  • User Specific Requirements (machine specification) definition and executing at the procurement stage. Potential vendors technical assessment.

  • Leading Equipment validation, Acceptance test at supplier site & in the plant after delivery (FAT/SAT) and on site qualification execution.

  • Technical leadership to ensure required Gauge R&R and Capability Studies are conducted on time. Process Capability studies (Cp, Cpk) or Measurement System Analysis will be additional factor will provision.

  • Conducting test runs before full production to ensure the CNC machines produce outputs according to specifications.

  • Define Consumables and frequency assignment to ensure production continuity at the early stage of product validation (by ramping up stage).

  • Technology expertise for CNC machines, cutting tooling, fixtures development, validation and ensure its robustness in terms of capability, ergonomics, market trends and lifetime.

  • Ensuring precision and quality to maintain high standards in the manufacturing process.

  • Troubleshooting and maintaining problems related to CNC machinery in case of issue arises.

Qualifications Knowledge Skills:

  •  Proven experience with CNC program designing, preparation, test and analysis for milling and turning machines from main global manufacturers

  • CNC Programming in practice.

  • Excellent working knowledge of manufacturing processes (especially metal machining/turning/milling and associated finishing processes), product/process design and engineering materials. 

  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills - able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Innovative thinker. 

  • Experience in executing complex problem solving techniques related to fabricating technical issues.

  • Good understanding of statistical tools and validation/verification techniques. 

  • Experience of MES/SAP, GD&T will provision.

  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to plan, organize and implement concurrent tasks. 

  • Green or Black Belt 6 Sigma qualifications an advantage.
