Snr Staff RF Power Electronics R&D Engineer

What you will do:
- Design, develop, refine and evaluate electrical components, assemblies and sub-systems for electrosurgery medical devices
- Lead the design and implementation of high-energy electrical sub-systems for patient-connected medical devices
- Translate user, clinical and system-level needs into electrical requirements, specifications and system-level designs
- Apply concurrent engineering, advanced prototyping and test methods to reduce product time to market while meeting project, cost and compliance requirements
- Mentor and train team members on technical aspects of product commercialisation, design trade-offs, technology exploration and complex product design issues
- Contribute to voice of customer, customer-centric design, competitive strategy and market understanding in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
- Lead or contribute to engineering documentation, Design History File content, R&D procedures and standards-based development activities
Key Skills:
- Advanced electrical design capability across complex components and electronic subsystems within medical device systems and platforms.
- Deep expertise in power electronic systems operating from hundreds of kHz to low MHz frequencies, including resonant/quasi-resonant topologies, custom magnetics, and design of HV DC/DC converters and power amplifiers
- Strong understanding of RF, electromagnetics, EMC, measurement, sensing and control interfaces, including work in high dv/dt and high common-mode noise environments
- Ability to guide testing, troubleshooting, PCB/cable design, electrical stackups, statistical methods and manufacturing/test methods
- Knowledge of applicable medical device standards, risk management, insulation diagrams, essential performance, MOOP/MOPP, PEMS/PESS and standards-based testing
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools, dynamic modelling, control algorithms, PID controllers and other control topologies
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline and 6+ years’ relevant experience
- Direct, hands-on experience designing custom magnetics, including high-frequency isolation transformers
- Experience providing technical guidance to electrical engineers and influencing cross-functional technical teams

Ireland Pay Ranges:
- Ireland: €66,000 - €109,000 EUR Annual
