Job description
At Stryker, this role plays a critical part in bringing innovative medical technologies to patients by leading complex product transfer and innovation engineering initiatives. As a Staff Engineer, you will drive technical strategy, oversee engineering execution, and ensure new manufacturing technologies are successfully implemented. This is an opportunity to influence high-impact projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a highly regulated environment. This is a high-impact, 1-year fixed-term opportunity to influence critical engineering projects in a fast-paced, regulated industry.
What You Will Do
- Lead complex product transfer and new product introduction initiatives, ensuring delivery within defined scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets.
- Direct the introduction of advanced manufacturing technologies and capital equipment, including design, supplier alignment, commissioning, and validation readiness.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and align project priorities.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, schedule, and regulatory risks while driving data-based decision-making and escalation when required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product transfer, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, facilities, finance, and continuous improvement to ensure project success.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and engineering deliverables using project management tools to maintain project visibility and accountability.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams supporting product transfer and innovation initiatives.
- Manage engineering progress reporting and support capital planning, budget justification, and spending tracking for assigned projects.
What you need:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, product development, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading new product introduction or product transfer projects in Pharmaceutical or Medical Devices industries.
- Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Project Management, or related field.
- Experience introducing manufacturing technologies or capital equipment in production environments.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as medical devices or other regulated manufacturing sectors.
