Senior Staff Engineer - Chemical processes

Senior Staff Engineer is experienced across a number of Engineering competencies including mostly chemical processes skills. The Senior Staff Engineer will provide technical support in the Stryker facility across all those processes.

Scope of duties

  • Technical and operational support to manufacturing operations 
  • Ensure quality of process and product as defined in appropriate OS and Material specifications
  • Structured problem solving
  • Continuously improve the performance of the process
  • Lead Process Development / Advanced Operations on technology development and application within the manufacturing process (Local Process support in chemical processes and installations)
  • Engage in the implementation of lean manufacturing
  • Communicate and participate in system and process troubleshooting with support team members and with external agents
  • Provide leadership to Technicians and engineers as required
  • Provision of out-of-hours support to the business as required by management or as mandated by shutdowns and/or equipment failures
  • Process NC/CAPA in his/her area of responsibility
  • Taking part in development process of PFEMA, Control Plans.
  • Conducting SPC and MSA studies for new/modified processes.
  • Integration of new process with MES / SAP systems.
  • Support role in process validation procedure / documentation.

Our expectations

  • BS in Engineering
  • At least 10 years experience in implementing/improving chemical processes.
  • Chemical processes knowledge (Anodization, Electropolishing, Cleaning, Passivation)
  • Experience in process automation.
  • Experience and knowledge in process validation/PPAP.
  • Knowledge of GD&T is a must.
  • Experience in using analytical tools like PFMEA, SPC, MSA, DoE will be an advantage.
  • Capable of providing technical leadership and, influencing and providing technical direction to Coop Students, Technicians and Operators as required
  • Demonstrable strong  analytical & problem solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent presentation and written / verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work autonomously
  • Technological expert, willing to source, investigate and implement technological advances
  • Fluent English writing and speaking is a must
  • Experience in highly regulated environment
