Position Summary

Are you an experienced and innovative engineering professional with a passion for advancing cutting-edge technologies in the medical field? We are looking for a proactive, results-driven Senior/Staff Engineer to support our joint replacement NPI programs. 

In this role, you will develop solutions to technical challenges of moderate scope and complexity, while playing a key part in leveraging engineering techniques to ensure NPI launch excellence. You will also lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at accelerating time to market, driving cost efficiencies, and expanding margins by implementing innovative additive technologies and processes that differentiate our products and give us a competitive edge in the market. 

What you will do:

  • Innovative Technology Integration: Spearhead the integration of cutting-edge additive manufacturing technologies for joint replacement products, optimizing efficiency and precision in accordance with Stryker's new product development and design transfer procedures. 

  • Relationship Building and Mentorship: Foster productive relationships both internally and externally, playing a pivotal role in team dynamics. Provide periodic guidance and training to team members, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and growth. 

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Strategically plan and execute additive manufacturing initiatives, leveraging the latest engineering techniques to achieve optimum results in product development. 

  • Quality Assurance and Product Optimization: Oversee and ensure the quality of processes and products, aligning with operational standards and material specifications to deliver superior joint replacement products. 

  • Collaborative Project Management: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and synergy in all aspects of the product development lifecycle. 

  • Analytical Expertise: Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and review results. You may also lead or act as an independent reviewer in process review meetings. 

  • Regulatory Compliance and Time Management: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements while effectively managing project deadlines and product costs to facilitate swift market delivery. 

  • Participate in PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP, and PPAP generation associated with design transfer and product launches. 

What you will need:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 2+ years of experience or a related Master's degree. 
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills – able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to envision novel approaches to problem-solving and process improvement. 
  • Experience in executing complex problem solving techniques related to manufacturing/design technical issues. Good instincts and sound judgement for mechanical and structural design 
  • Good understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), statistical tools, and validation/verification techniques.
