Position Summary

Are you ready to take the next step from a Technical Lead role in Advanced Operations and become a key driver in shaping the future of product innovation and process development? We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Staff Engineer to lead early funnel engagement within our Joint Replacement (JR) Division. This role is crucial to supporting the development roadmap for JR NPI programs, ensuring the successful determination of manufacturing processes for new hip and knee products.

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including division stakeholders, with a primary focus on shaping the product development roadmap by driving AO strategic priorities to architect the future of NPI projects. You will play a key role in de-risking process development activities upfront and focus on identifying innovative additive technologies and processes that differentiate our products and provide a competitive market advantage. Additionally, this role will focus on championing continuous improvement initiatives, and developing engineers to enable AO strategic priorities, ensuring that all efforts contribute to the overall success of JR's organizational goals.

  • Early Funnel Engagement: Lead initiatives to engage with Product Development and Commercial teams early in the product funnel to provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) expertise and mitigate process development risks, ensuring a smooth transition to the technical NPI lead within the team once the project is chartered.

  • Manufacturing Technology Evaluation: Drive the adoption and integration of advanced additive manufacturing technologies into both existing and new workflows, processes, and product lines within the JR Hip and Knee business units. This includes, implementing cutting-edge technologies (e.g., additive manufacturing, automation, or advanced materials) to improve the efficiency, quality, and performance of hip and knee implants and identifying and exploring new technological opportunities and innovations that enhance product offerings, optimize operational capabilities, cost efficiencies and margin expansion to deliver a competitive market advantage.

  • Strategic Framework Creation: Develop and implement a framework within Amagine to guide early funnel engagement, ensuring strategic alignment and risk mitigation in collaboration with technology development teams.

  • Collaboration and Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for division stakeholders and AMagine, ensuring alignment on program strategies, risk management, and advanced technology integration.

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Developing a Technical Development Framework to cultivate talent and support career growth within Advanced Operations.
