Job description
Stryker’s Sustainability Solutions Research and Development team is seeking to hire a Senior Staff Engineer, R&D to work on new product introduction design and development in Tempe, AZ. This role supports the execution of assigned project elements, emphasizing the development of authentication technology. This role is focused on the electronics aspects of reprocessing including hardware/software design, test method development, fixture design, fabrication and qualification, and monitoring.
What you will do:
- Lead or mentor design and development of electrical components, sub-systems, and/or systems for medical devices.
- Apply and mentor others on advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts.
- Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker new product development procedures.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in electronic, electro-mechanical, and software-based fixture methodologies and process development.
- Act as liaison between R&D and Operations teams, supporting the transfer of proof-of-concepts into production solutions.
- Establish operating parameters, conduct experimental tests and result analysis, and participate in design review meetings.
- Support design changes that would necessitate updates to hardware, software, approach, new fixtures, etc.
- Conduct electronic fixture testing and result analysis, and analyze electrical system parameters to establish operating data.
What you need:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 6+ years of relevant work experience.
- Advanced level understanding of chipset architecture, designs, and methods.
- Experience in an FDA-regulated or regulated industry.
- Experience with database methodologies and integration into production equipment.
- Demonstrated experience with electro-mechanical and software-based system troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, products, and process design.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Software.
