What You Will Do:
Managerial Responsibilities
- Facilitate and drive the professional growth of individuals
- Lead initiatives within the business unit including talent management and growing competencies, enabling staff to be at their best and achieve their professional goals
- Leverage strong listening skills and written / verbal communication to influence and convey complex business, regulatory compliance, and/or technical ideas to customers, employees, peers, external partners, and senior leaders
Technical Responsibilities
- Provide insight and mentorship across the software lifecycle, from soliciting user needs to validation and all steps along the way
- Provide insight and mentorship to teams during architectural, design, and implementation activities
- Maintain sufficient technical competence to participate in principled architecture discussions (including periodically engaging in hands-on technical work to maintain and refresh technical skills)
Organizational Responsibilities
- Influence technical areas across the organization to drive innovation and ensure achievement of business goals
- Assess emerging opportunities and technologies that can better meet clinical needs and partner with customers, internal and external key opinion leaders (KOLs) to develop technical strategies that meet clinical/business needs
What You Will Need:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or applicable technical field
- 10+ years applicable experience, with 6+ years direct people management experience
- Proven track record of growing team members and helping them advance in their careers
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex plans and technical information effectively
- Strong technical background with ability to maintain technical competency while balancing management responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in medical device software or biomedical application development
- Background in medical device software (IEC 62304) or biomedical application development
- Advanced understanding of the healthcare market and competitors, conversant in clinical issues of relevance
- $149k- $329k salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
