Senior Principal Engineer

What you will do:
 

Technical Responsibilities:

• Lead SDLC, Application Lifecycle Management, traceability, estimation, and engineering best-practice adoption across projects and portfolios
• Define enterprise system architecture and guide design decisions for components, sub-systems, and medical device platforms
• Influence and mentor technical teams on advanced engineering principles, complex design issue resolution, and cross-BU product development
• Assess emerging technologies and drive their strategic application across businesses and product lines
• Serve as an independent reviewer for design reviews, product development projects, technical documentation, and quality-critical deliverables
• Contribute to intellectual property strategy, filings, and innovation governance

Business Responsibilities:

• Possess an in-depth knowledge of the industry and competitive landscape in the business unit
• Assess emerging opportunities and technologies that can better meet clinical needs. Partner with clinicians and key opinion leaders
• Mentor, teach, and develop best practices for voice of customer and customer centric design activities
• Collaborate and mentor on financial/business modelling and leads business reviews to validate a technical approach
   

Med Device Compliance:

• Divisional expert with extensive experience applying indu+L25stry standards in device development across businesses
• Influence creation and adoption of divisional design control and risk documentation within the quality management system
• Lead and influence across business units, seen as an expert advisor in the development of standards and regulations into procedures
   

What you need:

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with 14+ years of progressive technology leadership experience
• Strong expertise in system architecture, portfolio technology strategy, IDE direction, software development practices, and engineering tool ecosystem ownership
• Deep command of SDLC governance, code quality frameworks, static/dynamic analysis, memory management, code coverage, integration, deployment, and regulated product development standards
• Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management functions
• Track record of defining scalable engineering procedures, policies, technology requirements, coding standards, and product/process development frameworks
• Recognized technical leader with experience mentoring senior engineering talent, guiding complex product development, leading independent code reviews, and driving breakthrough solutions across R&D portfolios
• Strong execution leadership with the ability to remove organizational barriers, strengthen engineering maturity, and contribute to technical talent assessment and development
