Job description

In this role, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for the Joint Replacement portfolio within EEMEA. Supporting a re-aligned marketing structure with a clear focus by franchise, you will provide guidance for all relevant Joint Replacement marketing and education plans in the region. You will ensure alignment with all critical stakeholders to drive above-market growth in all segments we compete in. This is a senior-level role covering the EEMEA region, particularly Russia, Turkey, Poland, Central Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and South Africa. You will work with a dedicated marketing team across the region to drive awareness of our broad Joint Replacement portfolio and build and execute plans to compete for category leadership.

What you will do:

  • Coach others on the market positioning and strengths/weaknesses of key competitors

  • Share marketing intelligence and information with the team

  • Interpret competitive analysis and incorporate it into marketing strategy for product or portfolio

  • Anticipate future competition types and develop processes to improve competitive analysis accuracy

  • Define the Joint Replacement portfolio strategy for premium and mid-tier segments in EEMEA

  • Manage the PLCM strategy for EEMEA in close partnership with RA/QA

  • Ensure all AMP’s and CP’s in the region align with the franchise strategy by guiding local Marketing teams

  • Drive the adoption of ProLaunch for new product introduction plans, tracking and monitoring progress

  • Collaborate with PMs and commercial leaders to execute region-specific marketing & education activities

  • Manage pricing & margin management across all regions

  • Allocate financial resources and manage Joint Replacement investments in focus countries

  • Provide technical expertise with respect to specified product areas, including product knowledge and sales trends

  • Facilitate the annual product planning (APP) process for the Joint Replacement portfolio

  • Orchestrate coordinated product launches in-country

  • Establish relationships with Global and European Marketing teams, producing reports and sharing territory information

  • Determine and coordinate all Joint Replacement Training & Education activities for HCPs in EEMEA

  • Mentor teams in developing targeting and positioning statements that align with strategic plans

  • Guide teams in allocating marketing resources to customer acquisition and retention objectives

  • Provide strategic direction to the field sales organization through various communications and presentations

  • Lead a team of professionals, developing employees, and fostering personal growth and development

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related discipline required

  • MBA preferred

  • 10+ years of work experience required

  • 7+ years medical device or marketing/sales experience preferred 

  • 4+ years of people management experience preferred

  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communications skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines

  • Ability to be persuasive in the absence of organizational authority

  • Must be able to understand and work within complex interdivisional procedures and policies

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

  • Must be able to manage time, projects, stress and conflict

  • Must be able to bring tasks through to completion with minimal supervision

  • Must be able to communicate / present to large groups of people
