Job description
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Finance Analyst will business partner with the General Manager of Medical APAC and Sales Directors across the regions (East Asia OR ANZ), helping drive business performance within the Division. This role will also deliver insightful business intelligence to APAC Medical Leadership team and help manage the projection, budgeting and strategy planning processes. NOTE: This is a contract position.
Medical APAC has reporting obligations to Stryker corporate through the Stryker Medical Group.
This role sits within the Finance team and supports the Medical Asia Pacific Division to achieve their financial objectives, specifically focusing on:
Lead financial planning and projection processes such as strategy, annual budget and regular projections to Corporate
Understanding the impact (financial and non-financial) of actions taken within their region and effectively communicate these potential impacts to business managers and Directors.
Drive collaboration efforts between Sales, Finance and Business Services through improved communication and thought leadership
Become an active member of Medical APAC Finance team to provide insight into ongoing performance and highlighting opportunities and helping drive sales and margin performance.
Support the wider APAC business through knowledge sharing, financial acumen communication and cross divisional projects.
Integrate acquisitions within the region, including associated wind-down activities as directed by Corporate.
Understand and co-ordinate legal and corporate functions across accounting, risk management, compliance and taxation, to ensure policies reflect legislation and industry best practice
Provide strategic support around ‘go to market’ strategies including presentations to health boards or major tenders for our customers.
Provide accurate and timely advice to the APAC Medical Leadership team and Executive Management to provide key insights and advise
Identify areas of opportunity for business improvement, not limited to just Sales, but also operational business process, and instil a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Key Areas of Accountability:
Financial Planning
Drive the end to end Strat plan and long-term forecasting processes across the region.
Drive the end-to-end forecasting and budgeting process for their region.
Financial Reporting
P&L ownership and monthly reporting
Presentation of monthly results to APAC Medical leadership teams, and Medical Finance Leadership team in the US
Sales performance reporting and analysis
Financial Analysis
Analysis of monthly Sales and P&L and influence of key stakeholders to achieve both financial and non-financial metrics
Support Directors and Divisions with ad-hoc analysis to drive intelligent decision making and continuous improvement
Ensure margin considerations are factored into sales deals and commercial agreements
Generate ideas and highlight opportunities to enhance sales and business performance
Continuous Improvement Projects
Completion of major improvement projects which are recognized as having a significant impact on the customers, processes or financial results in Medical APAC.
Leadership
Promote sharing of expertise within your team, the wider Finance team and business to achieve the best possible results for Finance.
Critical Requirements (e.g. skills, experience, qualifications):
Knowledge:
Strategic and business planning approaches
Business partnering skills
Change management strategies
Relevant legislation and requirements, quality and regulatory programs
Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards for Regional accounting standards and US GAAP statutory compliance requirements.
Business process and business improvement techniques
Product knowledge and business understanding, and ‘go to market strategies’ for each.

Experience:
Proven business partnering experience providing decision support and finance/business intelligence that drove business results
Demonstrated track record of success in commercial manager position providing analysis and reporting to a Division, P&L management.
Experience across audit, tax, and technical accounting queries.
International Finance experience
Qualifications:
Accounting/commerce/finance tertiary qualifications. Chartered Accountant qualification is desirable.
