Job description
The Sr. Director IT, Field Inventory will own and drive the alignment and execution of activities, processes, solution design and implementation, and information flow across a transformation program within the Field Inventory Management workstream. They will be accountable for supporting and delivering the SDLC phases of the program (e.g. Early Engagement, Design, Build, Testing, Cutover/Deployment/Hypercare). This role will have accountabilities in managing the system integrator, drive the financial adherence and governance for the function and team (SOW, resources, budget), manage the business relationship with key stakeholders, and collaborate and integrate with various IT and business teams. They will partner with executive leadership, business program leaders, Program Management Office, technical teams, and system integrators to lead the execution of the agreed upon program activities. This is a highly influential role that will play both a tactical and strategic part in building and delivering Field Inventory solution for Stryker.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning & Coordination
Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to define program objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
Act as a liaison between teams or departments to facilitate effective communication and ensure smooth program execution.
Identify program intersections and manage cross-program dependencies to minimize disruptions.
Commercial Enablement & Leadership
Serve as the accountable lead for all Commercial Enablement workstream IT Playbook activities, in collaboration with the Service and Field business lead.
Drive IT value creation and customer satisfaction across multiple divisions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with program business and division leadership.
Act as a functional member of the Service and Field Leadership team, delivering as a trusted advisor on technology solutions and service differentiation.
Strategic Alignment
Collaborate with leadership to develop integrated strategic roadmaps aligning business and technology strategies.
Participate in the development of business and IT strategic plans, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives.
Conduct application rationalization to optimize existing application portfolios based on SAP solutions.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities and best practices.
Research and recommend emerging technologies to drive competitive advantage, scalability, and data-driven insights.
Champion organizational change management by socializing planned changes and acting as a role model for adoption.
Stakeholder & Resource Management
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and addressing their needs throughout the program lifecycle.
Allocate and manage resources, including personnel, partners, and budgets, to ensure program success.
Documentation, Reporting, and Risk Management
Develop and maintain program documentation, such as charters, progress reports, and risk assessments.
Identify potential risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risks throughout the program lifecycle.
Prepare executive-level presentations and reports for stakeholders to communicate status and strategic recommendations.
Program Evaluation & Change Management
Define evaluation criteria and metrics to measure program success.
Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
Support change management efforts by communicating program benefits and facilitating stakeholder adoption.
Leadership & Mentorship
Provide guidance and mentoring to program leads and team members.
Conduct research on industry benchmarks and trends to identify improvement opportunities.
Develop tools and processes for demand sizing, resource management, and supplier engagements.
HR & Financial Management
Manage HR tasks for the team, including performance management and development.
Ensure projects are delivered on budget, focusing on value-driven activities and supplier deliverables.
Special Projects
Lead special projects and assignments as required.
Education and Training
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent technical field of study required or equivalent experience
Master’s degree in MIS, MBA, or related disciplines preferred.
Qualifications and Experience
12+ years of overall IT experience, with broad expertise in program management, partner engagement, application development, infrastructure operations, IT governance, financial management, or equivalent.
10+ years of experience managing teams in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
Experience delivering mobile/web-based application solutions integrated with ERP systems.
Background in React JS and SFDC Heroku technologies preferred.
Proficiency in Agile and DevOps methodologies.
Extensive knowledge (10+ years) of the medical devices and/or similar industries, including adjacent processes and organizational insights.
10+ years of experience in large SAP ERP implementations/deployments; SAP S4 HANA experience preferred.
Proven success in deploying or delivering global transformational/ERP programs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to recruit, manage, and develop high-performing teams.
Excellent business acumen and negotiation skills.

- Location: Virtual with 50+% Travel
- $168,000 - $270,000 salary plus bonus eligible + generally eligible for short-term and long-term financial incentives + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
