Job description

Stryker is seeking a collaborative Senior Design Engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical design, product development, and manufacturing processes. You are a proactive problem solver who can develop creative solutions, communicate effectively across teams, and independently drive design activities while maintaining a focus on quality, compliance, and customer needs.


What You Will Do

  • Research, design, develop, modify, and verify medical device components and modules with minimal supervision.

  • Translate design inputs into engineering specifications and subsystem-level designs.

  • Develop, prototype, and analyze solutions to establish proof of concept and resolve complex technical challenges.

  • Apply fundamental and advanced engineering concepts, practices, and procedures to problem solving.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of customer needs, product intended use, and relevant clinical procedures.
  • Build familiarity with business fundamentals, including financial models and project impacts.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, design controls, risk management, and the Quality Management System.

  • Independently create, maintain, and refine engineering documentation, including Design History File content.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to drive project success.

  • Demonstrate ownership, quickly assimilate new processes and technologies, prioritize work independently, and contribute as a key collaborative team member.


What You Need (Minimum Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or BioMedical & 2+ years of work experience


Preferred Qualifications (Strongly Desired)

  • Working knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering practices and design principles

  • Technical ability to create engineering drawings and models, applying GD&T and CAE tools

  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to product design

  • Ability to Communicate basic plans and technical information to team members


$77,700 - $129,500 USD Annual
