Job description

Stryker Neurovascular Division is hiring a Senior CAD Engineer to work on-site in Salt Lake City, Utah. Neurovascular | Stryker.

As a Senior CAD Engineer, you will prepare and maintain detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications using Solidworks CAD software. You will design and fabricate fixtures for product development and collaborate with diverse teams to launch new neurovascular devices for stroke treatment.

 This role involves travel to assess vendors, visit divisional headquarters in Fremont, CA and support R&D teams with technical reviews at the manufacturing site in Cork, Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The role will work on short, medium - and long-term projects to meet project launch requirements.

  • Assist engineers in developing concepts, designs, and approaches for new processes and test methods. Lead the design, procurement, and fabrication of equipment, tooling, and fixtures for manufacturing.

  • Ensure all fixture designs meet project needs and comply with medical clean room regulations. Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors for fixture fabrication, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards. Actively participate in project meetings, providing design ideas to enhance functionality, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability.

  • Develop accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings in Solidworks based on project specifications, design requirements, and input from project teams. Maintain and update numeric revisions of drawings and R&D documentation as required.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced designers, helping them grow their skills in CAD, design principles, and fixture fabrication.

  • Apply, implement, and interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

What you need:

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related discipline.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience in design, new product development, manufacturing or related field.

  • Previous three-dimensional (3D) Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and software Solidworks or AutoCAD related work experience.

  • Previous hands-on work experience including bench fixturing , tooling  and assembly
