What You Will Do:

The Senior CAD/Drafting Specialist is a seasoned drafter whose responsibilities include working with Design Engineers to create and edit 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks, ensure completeness and compliance with industry and Stryker standards, and advise on best-practices.  Additionally, you will:

  • Collaborate with the Design Team to design, detail, and resolve component and assembly issues using SolidWorks, while ensuring alignment with company and ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards and leveraging a basic understanding of common manufacturing methods.
  • Create and maintain 2D drawings, 3D models, and templates using SolidWorks, and use experience to guide and/or create drafting best practices.
  • Interpret Design Engineer design inputs and infer engineering design intent, understanding the fixture’s and/or product’s intended use to properly inform the creation of accurate 2D drawings.
  • Work with engineers to verify the accuracy of all CAD engineering models, assemblies, and drawings, and utilize judgment to ensure completeness and compliance with industry and Stryker standards.
  • Independently conduct tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure proper assembly and performance.
  • Transfer legacy CAD data from Agile PLM to SolidWorks PDM, updating legacy data to current standards.
  • Operate and maintain in-house tools such as 3D printers and scanners to support the Design Team, and engage in limited prototyping, fabricating, assembly, and testing of fixtures and assemblies.
  • Communicate effectively with others through various channels such as phone, email, and in-person meetings, and prioritize workload while effectively communicating schedules.

What You Need:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years CAD modeling, assembly, drawing creation, and PDM experience in the SolidWorks environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred:

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in drafting/CAD technology or equivalent
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Professional (GDTP) certification
  • CSWP/CSWE Certification
