Job description

Master Data Engineer is responsible for Production Planning Module Setup including Bill of Material & Routing. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of eRP, PFMEA, Process Control Plan, Quality Inspection methods, lean manufacturing concepts and will ensure precise routing information for production.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Maintain SAP Item to set up all product and part numbers, along with associated BOM and routing set-ups throughout the product lifecycle with a critical level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ongoing Production Planning Module change management related to Product Transferred part numbers and configurations.
  • Create, update, and maintain BOMs in the SAP system.
  • Ensure accurate and complete BOM data, including components, quantities, and routing information.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, production planning and quality teams to validate BOM accuracy.
  • Collaborate within the department and with manufacturing, quality control, quality assurance, IT, global master data management, and supply chain organization to determine business requirements for the design of master data.
  • Understand manufacturing processes and the implementation within the global ERP and boundary systems (i.e., configuration and master data, including, but not limited to, items, recipes, routings, formulas, process instructions and process variables)
  • Develop and manage production routings (work instructions) that define the sequence of operations for manufacturing a product.
  • Assign operations to work centers, specifying the resources (machines, labor, tools and inspection methods) required at each step of production.
  • Resolve any discrepancies related to BOMs, routings, or material master data.
  • Provide engineering support for product transfer and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the latest Stryker procedures. 
  • Ensure data matches names and values between  PFMEA, PCP and Routers.
  • Allocate RAW Material to correct operation in cooperation with Production Planner.   
  • Submit prepared documents for Mass Upload in IT Portal.
  • Participate in PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), Control Plan, SOP (Start of Production) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) (Stryker internal process qualification generation associated with product transfers and launches).  

Who we are looking for:

  • Proficiency in using SAP (or other ERP systems) for BOM (Bill of Materials) and routing management.
  • Work independently in a fast-paced work environment, with the ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Demonstrable strong analytical & problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Precise data entry and validation to ensure accurate BOMs and routings.
  • Understanding of BOM structures, components, and their relationships.
  • Ability to create and maintain production routings (work instructions).
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues related to BOMs, routings, and production processes.
  • Explaining BOM changes, routing updates, and production schedules effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate records of BOM revisions and routing changes.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university required (Master Data or IT preferred but not limited to). 3-5 years relevant work experience required, preferably in a med tech of food manufacturing environment
