Job description
Position Summary:
An Associate Sales Representative is the entry-level position within our Sales Career Path. You are beginning or are in the early stages of developing your sales career and employing the process of selling which involves contacting potential customers, identifying their needs, persuading them that our Stryker products can best satisfy those needs; closing the sale by agreeing the terms and conditions; and providing after-sales service and support to include case cover in theater.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Detailed Description)
- Stryker Citizen: Demostrates outstanding ethics at all times. Treats customers and employees with respect, represents the company in the best possible light.
- Knowledge: Communicates essential features and benefits of products and their clinical applications.
- Customer Service: Acts with integrity and reactively delivers on commitments within the required timescales.
- Business Planning: Constructs a basic business plan with input from mentor/manager. Daily, weekly and monthly planning decided in partnership with mentor and RSM.
- Sales Skills: Develops rapport. Understands the importance of relationships in selling. Using open questioning techniques to ascertain customer's needs and has good working knowledge of key brands to open opportunities for team to sell. Uses customer troubleshooting opportunities to grow and protect the business.
- Commercial Awareness: Understands that there are multiple stakeholders in the decision making process and asks appropriate questions to identify the stakeholders.
- Developing Others: Not applicable
- Discretion/Latitude/Impact: Work is closely supervised and specific direction provided by more experienced staff. Keeps supervisor informed regularly on status of work. Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious affect on revenue or budget.
Qualifications/Experience:
- 0-1 years Sales experience with Diploma in related field. Higher Education advantageous.
- Knowledge of Medical Device environment & Medical Device regulations preferred

Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15kg.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- May be exposed to Hazardous materials. Employees need to consult SDS in their work area.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment to protect against exposure to Blood Bourne pathogens, chemicals and radiation.
