Job description

What You Will Do

As an R&D Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing tests to ensure quality and functionality of Stryker products or systems. You will perform hands-on experimentation with prototypes, create test methods and test fixtures, and lead design verification efforts for projects of various scales.

  • Create, manage, and execute test plans for medical devices

  • Develop and implement test methods, fixtures, and perform hands on testing

  • Lead design verification activities, including resource planning for personnel and equipment

  • Review functional specifications and provide technical input throughout product development

  • Utilize statistical methods to define sample sizes and support test conclusions

  • Review and interpret mechanical and electrical standards

  • Author and review test protocols, reports, and supplier/OEM technical documentation

  • Investigate test failures, support design reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional and global engineering teams to improve product performance and quality

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical or other related Engineering discipline required.

  • 0+ years of experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills

  • Proven ability to manage priorities and consistently meet project deadlines

  • Experience collaborating effectively within cross-functional and globally distributed engineering teams

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles

  • Hands-on experience designing, building, troubleshooting, and testing electrical and mechanical systems

  • Familiarity with common laboratory test equipment, methodologies, and medical device verification testing

  • Experience with automation and software tools such as NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, and SolidWorks

  • Knowledge of medical device standards and clinical operating room environments, including IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, NFPA70, and NFPA99


$76,500 - $122,000 USD Annual
