Project Manager, Automation & Technology
Position Summary
Responsible for the management and coordination of high impact projects associated with the introduction of new process technology and automated manufacturing systems.
The project manager will be a key member of the Automation & Technology team working closely with technical leads within the team. The project manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in compliance with safety and quality standards. Your engineering experience and project management abilities will be vital in driving the automation strategy and optimising the plants manufacturing processes.
What you will do:
Management of significant Automation & Technology projects through PMO.
Assume overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project. The Project Manager is responsible to the project stakeholders for delivering a project’s objectives within scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
The Project Manager in conjunction with technical leads is responsible to the project stakeholders for delivering a project’s objectives within scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
Ensure a common understanding by setting expectations in accordance with the project plan, to align stakeholders and team members.
Lead the identification, technical assessment, monitoring, and closure of project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Participate in the selection and performance appraisal process of project resources.
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.
Support the team in complex or difficult situations, removing obstacles, assigning appropriate resources, and interacting with other functions to assist with issue resolution and streamlining of work processes.
What you need:
Required
Level 8 Honours Degree in an Engineering discipline.
4+ years’ experience, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of business-critical projects.
Preferred
Must be able to analyse and correct complex process and/or system issues of a broad scope using independent judgment.
Ability to generate and explain detailed proposals, schedules, objectives, and other documentation accurately.
Excellent analytical skills, ability to plan, organise and implement concurrent tasks. Ability to understand complex inputs and to be able to distil critical information.
Excellent Interpersonal Skills - able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Be open minded with the ability to recognise good ideas.
Utilize proper software to maintain project records, such as a PPM system, MS Office, SharePoint, or Visio. PMP certification or equivalent such as PRINCE2 is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal communication, influencing, collaborative teamwork and negotiation skills.
Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team in an aggressive, dynamic, flexible and results motivated environment.
