Job description

At Stryker, this role is essential to ensuring the consistent production of high-quality medical components. As a Plastic Processing Operator, you will work with advanced plastic processing and automated equipment to deliver products that meet strict quality and performance standards. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute directly to manufacturing operations in a fast-paced and regulated environment.

What you will do

  • Set up, start, operate, and monitor plastic processing equipment and automated machines to meet production targets.
  • Perform machine setups, including tooling changes and parameter adjustments to achieve required specifications.
  • Monitor process variables such as temperature, pressure, and speed to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Inspect components using measuring tools and verify compliance with dimensional and visual standards.
  • Record production data, scrap, and process adjustments accurately in production systems.
  • Perform basic maintenance activities and support preventive maintenance routines.
  • Handle materials and packaging of finished components according to production requirements.
  • Follow safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

What you will need

Required qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint or schematic reading and measurement techniques.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and inspection equipment.

Preferred qualifications

  • Associate degree in mechanical or related technical field.
  • Experience in plastic processing or extrusion manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working in regulated industries.

Additional Information

  • Work arrangement: On-site in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (day or night), including overtime as needed.
  • Work environment: Manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery; PPE required.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform standing, walking, and manual tasks.
  • Relocation support: Not specified.


Pay rate will not be below any applicable local minimum wage rates.
