Job description

The Breast & Plastics Medical Education Manager is a highly specialized individual contributor that will help the Endoscopy Business Unit by building and facilitating Health Care Professional education programs as well as raising the level of engagement of our HCP consultants and future thought leaders. The Medical Education Manager will serve as a contributing member of the Marketing organization while championing Stryker’s Mission and Values. 

This is a Hybrid position. You will be required to come to an office 50% of the time. Preference is to be located in a CST/PST, and you must be located near a Stryker location. 

This position requires 40% of domestic travel.

What you will do 

Technical/Procedure Insight 

  • Demonstrate technical expertise in Breast and Plastics procedures to facilitate HCP medical education programs, including driving the agenda and content. 

Market Insights 

  • Analyze competitive education and training activities to determine best practices. Develop and deliver an annual educational strategy aligning executable goals and objectives for the team and region. 

Customer Engagement 

  • Collaborate with key opinion leaders to design and facilitate educational programs/materials. 

Program Design 

  • Develop new methods to increase effectiveness, including online education and applications. 

  • Define key learning objectives for training curriculum. 

  • Create HCP educational programs for the organization. 

  • Establish and adjust program curriculum according to audience feedback. 

  • Lead discussions on the historical background and future perspective of training delivery. 

Collaborate with key stakeholders. 

  • Establish, monitor, and continuously improve curriculum and plan based on business objectives and priorities.

  • Collaborate with faculty and HCPs to set direction on medical education objectives and content.

  • Manage and influence internal network. 

Project Management 

  • Set direction and shape future needs for a medical education program 

  • Support and/or lead critical projects that span cross regional, cross divisional or new market opportunity 

  • Ability to analyze market/external environment and look for opportunities for continuous improvement. 

Training Delivery 

  • Anticipate the development of new medical education platform and analyze needs and priorities based on business needs and budget allocation. 

Effectiveness Measurement 

  • Refine, develop, and execute medical education strategies in line with changing market conditions and based on data/input following program execution. 

Strategic Vision 

  • Provide input to and support Strategy & Vision (short to long-term) 

Budgets/P&L 

  • Manage medical education offerings in accordance with P&L requirements.  Define, plan, and prioritize investments. 

Consultant Management 

  • Manage consultant network as well as “up and coming” thought leaders. 

Organizational Capabilities 

  • Seen as a Subject Matter Expert in medical education and activates change and/or improvements in offerings. 

  • Mentor and advise peers to execute the divisional education strategy and programs. 

Customer/Business Centric Development 

  • Proactively assess and prioritize medical education needs

  • Demonstrate collaboration with other divisions to share best practices and learn new approaches. 

  • Communicate extensively on medical education activities to influence others. 

Brand Stewardship 

  • Cascade divisional/medical education branding and strategy 

  • Support and implement new Medical Education branding to drive excellence in our industry 

Communication Planning 

  • Create content and messaging in partnership with Marketing Communications and utilize most effective platform.

  • Define Medical Education Communication strategy 

Other 

  • Mentor, develop, and influence across the business, intentionally building cross-divisional relationships. 

  • Demonstrate financial acumen. 

  • Develop key relationships with industry/market thought leaders, organizations, and institutions in collaboration with other marketing leaders.

  • Able to routinely make decisions that may affect immediate operations and have a company-wide impact. 

What you need 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8+ years of work experience

Preferred

  • 5+ years of Medical Education or Marketing experience

  • Experience in Sales is highly desirable

  • Experience in public speaking and interpersonal communication skills 

  • Proficiency in PowerBI and Salesforce

  • Experience working with HCP and consultants

  • Experience Building program curriculum

  • Experience taking technical concepts and transforming into practical applications

  • Experience working in Cadaver labs or OR environments
