What you will do
As the Medical Balloon Development Technician, you will play a hands-on role in developing technologies that support innovative medical devices, with opportunities to expand your knowledge of balloon development, catheter design, manufacturing processes, and product testing.
- Perform balloon testing and evaluation activities to support the development of catheter-based medical devices.
- Execute established test methods and protocols, ensuring accurate and repeatable results.
- Collect, document, and report testing data with accuracy and integrity to support engineering decisions and product development.
- Operate laboratory equipment and precision measurement tools, including micrometers and calipers, to assess balloon dimensions and performance with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare, assemble, and test balloon samples using specialized fixtures and equipment.
- Maintain detailed documentation and records in accordance with quality and engineering standards.
- Collaborate closely with R&D engineers and cross-functional partners to support development programs from concept through verification testing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve testing processes, efficiency, and data quality.
- Travel periodically to Waltham, MA to support training, testing activities, and collaboration with the broader Catheter R&D team.
What you need
Required
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in a medical device manufacturing, laboratory, testing, or technical environment.
- Experience operating laboratory equipment and precision measurement instruments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently in an onsite laboratory environment in Irvine, CA and travel up to 30% as business needs require.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering-related field.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing, testing, product development, or laboratory environments, especially with catheter, balloon, or minimally invasive technologies.
- Experience using precision measurement instruments and following detailed testing protocols.
$28.23 - $38.74 USD Hourly
