Schedule: 6:30am – 2:30pm, Monday – Friday, OT as needed
What you will do:
The Master Controls Technician at Stryker is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving machinery reliability issues, providing engineering support for process improvements, and collaborating on equipment upgrades. They lead and mentor less experienced employees, ensure the timely repair of electrical/controls failures, and oversee preventive maintenance to enhance operational efficiency. The role also involves maintaining safety protocols, managing inventory, and partnering with engineering teams on improvement projects and validations.
- Advanced knowledge of motion controls, industrial controls, electrical and pneumatic operations, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex machinery issues.
- Proficient in diagnosing and resolving electrical/control failures of production machines, ensuring timely repairs to eliminate recurring problems.
- Strong ability to design and implement electrical power, safety, and control systems to meet performance requirements.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment in handling major breakdown repairs, often leading collaborative efforts to resolve issues.
- Provides process and systemic improvements, working with engineering teams on projects to enhance machine efficiencies and reduce production costs.
- Leads non-conformance investigations, utilizing Practical Problem-Solving tools to improve processes and eliminate issues.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory of essential spare parts, ordering electrical and PLC components as needed, and ensuring adequate supplies for repairs.
- Open to overtime and off-hours support, including nights and weekends, to address emergency breakdowns.
- Partners with Engineering on improvement projects, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and provides support for technical reports and training opportunities for technicians.
- Exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills, with a strong willingness to mentor and train less experienced employees in electrical and controls.
What you need:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- 7+ Years of related Industrial Maintenance experience, minimum
- Experience with Electrical, Controls, and troubleshooting PLC’s
Preferred
- Associate Degree in Industrial/Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance or Engineering, with 4 years of Industrial Maintenance experience, or
- Bachelor’s of Science, in Engineering, with 1+ years of Industrial Maintenance experience
- Experience with Electrical, Controls, and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLC’s
- Experience with Electrical, Controls, and troubleshooting Siemen’s PLC’s
