As the Manager, Creative for Stryker’s Instruments Division, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual narrative of our brand and driving impactful creative strategies that align with our business goals. You’ll lead initiatives that boost brand awareness, elevate employee and customer experiences and enhance leadership and employee engagement. This role calls for a dynamic leader with a strong creative flair, process-driven approach and strategic thinking to support our growth-oriented organization and make a lasting impact.

What you will do

  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team of graphic designers and videographers.
  • Develop and socialize a compelling creative strategy, maintaining a high level of creative excellence across all projects aligned with the business strategies and goals to drive impact.
  • Provide thought leadership and subject-matter expertise on creative services.
  • Lead and mentor others on the development and execution of creative services.
  • Develop effective mechanisms for reviewing measurements and assessing progress, implementing new processes to improve efficiency and agility to better serve business needs, globally.
  • Ensure a consistent application of brand guidelines across all creative assets.
  • Proactively seek, embrace and develop collaborative relationships, working alongside cross-functional partners in a highly matrixed and regulated global environment.
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and improve design deliverables.
  • Identify and prioritize projects to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Set clear goals, provide regular coaching and conduct performance evaluations in accordance with guidelines and procedures.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Train others on editing for image, business inset, substance and the specific audience.
  • Encourage, solicit and reward imaginative and creative ideas. Support team in experimentation and accept occasional setbacks or failures.
  • Empower team to experiment with new and innovative concepts and design principles to maximize impact.
  • Organize and coordinate internal communication functions and meetings.
  • Oversee/coach team on developing effective KPI strategies for the business and how to track results and report to leadership.
  • Maintain a high degree of self-motivation and generate fresh ideas. Keep current with trends, tactics and strategies to inform future recommendations.

What you need

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8 years of work experience required, preferably in Graphic Design, Digital Design, or related field
  • 2 years of people management experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design tools highly preferred
  • A compelling portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and demonstrating your creative capabilities
  • Experience with video editing and animation software (Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Adobe Express) preferred
  • Experience in project management software such as Workfront, Asana, or Monday.com preferred
  • Familiarity with web design and HTML/CSS
  • Experience in collaboration tools such as Miro and FigJam
  • Understanding of UI/UX principles
