Job description
Stryker is seeking a dynamic and experienced Global EHS Manager with a strong track record in implementing impactful EHS programs that align with and support business growth. This role calls for an EHS professional skilled in developing and optimizing EHS systems and processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across a global footprint. Reporting to the Director of Commercial EHS, the Global EHS Manager will oversee and enhance EHS and Radiation programs, support global initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to boost employee engagement and ensure scalable growth.
In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing Stryker's global commercial EHS programs, particularly in radiation safety, while fostering a culture of safety and compliance across all regions. This role will support EHS and Radiation allocated 50/50% between the two focus areas.
What You Will Do:
- Global EHS Program Leadership:
- Lead and manage EHS initiatives, ensuring alignment with global business strategies and supporting commercial locations worldwide.
- Develop a thorough understanding of site-specific EHS programs, focusing on identifying and mitigating key risks through structured action plans.
- Drive the optimization of the Global Radiation and Commercial EHS program to enhance employee safety engagement and streamline program scalability.
- Radiation Safety Expertise:
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the Global Radiation Safety Program, conducting radiation training, surveys, and ensuring compliance across sites and mobile labs with imaging devices.
- Collaborate with local EHS teams to implement and uphold radiation safety standards and practices in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Incident Investigation and Continuous Improvement:
- Facilitate and support local EHS and HR teams in investigating incidents, injuries, and illnesses, using findings to enhance management systems and prevent future incidents.
- Contribute to the development of innovative EHS principles and strategies to address complex challenges and meet evolving business needs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Support:
- Partner with cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders to ensure EHS programs are aligned with organizational goals and effectively support business growth.
- Act as a resource and advisor to commercial EHS teams, providing insights and direction on global EHS practices and regulations.
What You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field required
- 8+ years of work experience required
- 5+ years of experience in EHS, experience in a commercial or MedTech environment preferred
- Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, or CHMM preferred
- Proven expertise in Radiation Safety and in-depth knowledge of OSHA and radiation regulations, with experience interfacing with regulatory agencies
- Strong analytical skills with high proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; adept at analyzing, manipulating, and presenting data to drive informed decision-making
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively at all organizational levels and across internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in designing and implementing EHS strategies, standards, and assessment processes that align with both global and local needs
- Skilled in conducting EHS assessments, leading assurance processes, and ensuring continuous improvement at commercial locations
$100,500 - $215,300 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
