Job description

The Manager, Clinical Marketing will lead a field marketing team by driving neurosurgical, cranial portfolio products and/or marketing strategies and programs consistent with overall business objectives.  Utilize both traditional and innovative product marketing approaches, tools and methodologies. Gain alignment and influence sales leadership to align to stated marketing strategies.

This role is Remote in the US. The preferred candidate will be located in Eastern or Central time zone and be in close proximity to an airport hub.

What you will do

Developing the Strategy and Marketing Plan

  • Guides others to deconstruct and extract the strategy from a well-written marketing plan.
  • Coaches others to spot weaknesses in plans and gives the necessary direction on where to improve.
  • Gains organizational alignment to the marketing plan with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with other divisions to gather and implement best-practices.
  • Evaluates strategy throughout the process and proposes adjustments and enhancements.

Communication Strategy

  • Articulates desired communications outcomes consistent with marketing strategy to Downstream and MarComm teams.
  • Partners with MarComm managers to develop synergies across team to maximize communication effectiveness.

Sales Support and Responsiveness

  • Aligns individuals to best support the selling organization.
  • Coaches direct reports to leverage all product resources and information to comprehensively support questions from regional sales teams.
  • Coaches direct reports to comprehend competitive alternatives and provide guidance on objection handling.
  • Regularly meets with Sales Teams to monitor teams’ effectiveness and gather input.

Sales Enablement

  • Provides clear, strategic and prioritized direction to the field sales organization through written/verbal communications, presentations at training meetings and informal interactions.
  • Analyzes regional sales data and identifies areas for growth.
  • Coaches direct reports and junior colleagues in choosing proper delivery methods for complicated training situations.
  • Partners with sales leadership regularly to implement marketing strategy, adjust tactics and monitor effectiveness.

Customer Engagement

  • Supports high priority or critical in-market customer interactions and experiences.
  •  Provides input into the future bench of Stryker KOL/faculty.
  • Assigns responsibility for coverage at industry meeting and tradeshows on behalf of the division.
  • Coaches others on the role of a consultant sponsor, serves as a consultant sponsor.

Customer Centric Development

  • Improves methods for maintaining customer feedback/ responsiveness from sales and surgeon customers.
  • Responds to market dynamics and shifts so as to maintain competitive advantage and address the needs of the selling organization.

Regional Marketing Insights

  • Gathers, interprets, and presents market insights to key business stakeholders.
  • Intimate knowledge customer needs.
  • Coaches the team to gathers and present relevant customer segmentation and value proposition data.
  • Guides sales teams and leaders on how to tailor efforts to meet specific market needs.
  • Develops and executes plans for collecting Voice of Customer and Voice of Sales on products, services and market trends.
  • Influences go-to-market direction based on marketing insights.

Marketing Objective

  • Guides teams in allocating resource to drive the greatest return for the Annual Marketing Plan, or Commercialization Plans.
  • Coaches teams to reallocate marketing resources appropriately given stakeholder power dynamics relative to the Annual Marketing Plan.
  • Guides teams in linking the marketing budget to customer acquisition and retention objectives.
  • Establishes metrics to determine if marketing objectives have been effective in driving customer engagement.
  • Develops an effective KPI strategy for the business.

Customer Insights

  • Coaches team on articulating the value proposition to the specific audience.
  • Trains others on the various reasons (variables) of why customers buy the product or service.
  • Understands what current and potential customers need to drive value in the portfolio.
  • Directs the team on using KOL's based on strategics strengths and experiences.

  • Leads a team of professionals: develops employees, which includes hiring, communicating company policies, coaching and counseling, administering performance appraisals, and enforcing company policies through appropriate disciplinary measures.

What you will need

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 8+ years of work experience required
  • 5+ years medical device or marketing/sales experience required
  • 2+ years of people management experience highly preferred
  •  Previous  experience with or familiarity with MIPS (minimally invasive parafascicular surgery), neurosurgery procedures preferred
  • Understanding of neurosurgical procedures ICH required or preferred

$112,800 - $239,900 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
