Job description
Schedule: Fri & Sat, 5:00am – 7:30pm
Sundays, 5:00am – 5:30pm
What You Will Do:
As a Machinist II, you will operate and maintain advanced CNC equipment, primarily Star Swiss lathe machines, to produce high-precision components. This is a hands-on, technical role requiring strong machining expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot both equipment and quality issues in a fast-paced production environment.
- Operate, set up, and monitor CNC machines, with a focus on Star Swiss lathe equipment
- Interpret blueprints, part prints, and process sheets to manufacture precision components
- Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain tight tolerances
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues to minimize downtime and scrap
- Identify product defects (including cosmetic concerns) and support root cause resolution
- Maintain accurate production records, maintenance logs, and quality documentation
- Support training and knowledge sharing by helping others identify defects and follow inspection standards
What you need
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3+ years of machining experience
- Ability to read blueprints and part prints
- Proficiency using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Machining Certificate
Preferred:
- Experience with Swiss lathe machining (Star machines highly preferred)
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience in a regulated or high-quality manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to troubleshoot machining and quality issues independently
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the shift (8–10 hours per day)
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30–50 pounds as needed
- Frequent use of hands for operating machinery and handling small precision components
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures

Pay rate will not be below any applicable local minimum wage rates.
$26.60/hr + $1.00 Shift Premium plus bonus potential and benefits.
