The Associate Project Manager will support an engineering team to deliver key programs or projects per associated timelines, quality requirements, and budget within Stryker's Interventional Spine business unit. This is a hybrid role located in Kalamazoo, MI.

What You Will Do:

As an Associate Project Manager, you will lead a cross-functional engineering team in the planning, coordinating, monitoring and execution of new medical device projects. In your role, you will ensure R&D projects are completed on time/cost & budget.  You will support cutting edge medical device products from the inception phase to launch.

  • Lead the team in the development of the project charter and management plan.  Direct, manage, monitor, and control project.   Evaluate tradeoffs within project. 
  • Meet with project stakeholders to understand and refine project scope; review with manager for approval.  Create detailed Work Breakdown Structure. 
  • Develop and manage the detailed project Gantt chart.  Analyze critical path and major workstreams. 
  • Collaborate with leadership, technical lead, and cross functional team members to establish project budget.  Monitor and maintain costs within budget. 
  • Develop a risk management plan for the project. Identify, analyze and understand project risks, develop and monitor a risk response plan. 
  • Estimate, acquire and assign project team resources.   Align the roles, responsibility, and deliverables for each team member.  Provide direct feedback to functional manager on performance reviews.    
  • Develop and Execute the communications management plan for project team and the needs of key stakeholders 
  • Leverage knowledge within the team to build skills and experienced needed to grow within the role to expand capability of taking on more responsibility. 
  • Builds successful working relationships with internal and external personnel in various departments. Understands quality system(s). 

What You Need:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; in engineering or technical discipline
  • 2 years of experience developing products with experience in new product development.

Preferred

  • Medical device or regulated industry experience
