Job description

The IT Software Asset Analyst will contribute to a team of IT Asset Management specialists, supporting Stryker policy, processes, and the lifecycle of hardware and software assets.  In this role, you will partner with ITAM and business stakeholders in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment to support the implementation of processes, workflows, and automations of Hardware and Software Asset Management Programs for Stryker using ServiceNow.  The IT Software Asset Analyst will join the ITAM team, focused on the discovery, collection and analysis of Tier 1 and 2 applications, consumable software, hardware, and infrastructure asset data.  The IT Software Asset Analyst will advise customers on best practices in license management, including procurement, deployment, decommissioning, and reclamation policies. The candidate will need to be familiar with various license models, license metrics, and have an understanding of publisher products such as Microsoft, SAP, Salesforce, and Oracle.

What you will do:

  • Contribute to a team of ITAM Specialists working to assist Stryker stakeholders in understanding and managing their hardware and software environments, contracts, and license entitlements.

  • Focus primarily on the discovery, collection and analysis of hardware inventory, software entitlement, license consumption and compliance position.

  • Support the hardware and software asset life-cycle - advising customers on license entitlements, purchasing, deployment, compliance, license reclamation/optimization, and decommission.

  • Leverage hardware and software asset management tools, including ServiceNow Hardware Asset, Software Asset (SAM Pro), Active Directory, and preferred discovery tools, as well as other approved department tools and technologies.

  • Understand the underlying discovery tools and network technologies to help isolate and resolve customer problems when it comes to gathering asset hardware and software information.

  • Governance of hardware and software asset data, working with ITAM Systems Engineers, ITAM Operations and/or ITAM Development support to maintain accurate and complete inventory.

  • Mitigate financial and security risks, reduce theft and loss, install updates, and ensure appropriate asset usage.

  • Identify potential "problem" areas within customer environments and provide advice on problem resolution.

  • Ensure timely completion of technical measurement process steps as well as present and explain results to internal and external stakeholders using a variety of reports and BI visualizations.

  • Keeps up to date with industry trends and new ITAM services requirements.

What you need:

  • 4+ years professional technology experience including Hardware & Software Asset Management

  • Experience with ServiceNow is preferred

  • Demonstrated experience as a team lead or similar role

  • Project management experience

  • A self-starting, entrepreneurial attitude

  • Bachelor's degree or higher; in related technology field or comparable job experiences

  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.

  • Ability to work within complex systems and large data sets.

  • ITILv4 certification

  • ITAM certification (CSAM, CHAMP)

  • Major in Computer Science, or other applicable technical degree
