Job description

Position summary:

This role will be responsible for the strategic oversight and management of business intelligence and data management initiatives. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of business processes to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Lead BI/Data platform delivery initiatives, leveraging tools such as Power BI and databases including Microsoft SQL, SSAS, and SSIS.
  • Design and implement data models and data sources to meet comprehensive BI/reporting requirements.
  • Drive the standardization of BI reports and data to ensure consistency and accuracy across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of self-service analytics, enabling users to customize reports and derive insights pertinent to their roles.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance standards and best practices for BI systems.

Education & special trainings:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent required.
  • Qualification in Business Analysis or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Japanese : Full professional proficiency and above.  English: Professional working proficiency and above
  • Proven experience in leading BI/Data platform delivery initiatives and designing data models.
  • Strong understanding of BI tools and databases, with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to standardize BI reports and data.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to staying current with industry trends and best practices in BI and data management.

Physical & mental requirements:

  • Demonstrated strong communication and influencing skills – oral, written, listening, executive presentations.   
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business representatives at all levels to identify needs, define and document requirements, and drive solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide the business towards optimal solutions.       
  • Experience in identifying opportunities for process optimization, process redesign, or development of new process/policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain clear communication channels with IT and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert complex business functions into technical specifications.
