Summary:

We are recruiting for a Commercial EHS Manager (m/f/d) within Stryker GSA region, and we are looking for someone who can lead the hands-on elements, drive strategic objectives, and lead the entire EHS function across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland!

The Commercial EHS Manager (m/f/d) will bring EHS leadership and direction to the team and is responsible for the commercial EHS program implementation to the workforce (office, warehouse, kitting/distribution and remote/field employees).

Lead, drive, inspect and evaluate the EHS system looking continuously at improvements that can be made.

What you will do: 

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of site operations and detailed processes and ensure key risks are well-understood and mitigated through the site Management System and action plans

  • Has the ability to positively influence with Commercial Leadership and stakeholders.

  • Responsible for implementing, developing and leading the EHS initiatives within the GSA Commercial Business

  • Develop policies, procedures and assessments that ensure a local EHS management system is in place to reduce risk

  • Develop, deploy, and monitor the Global EHS strategic goals across the GSA Commercial Business.

  • Ensures, in accordance with the corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the company's EHS systems and processes

  • Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical)

  • Interacting with a variety of departments and conducting training where required

  • Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies

  • Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety improvements exist.

  • Leads accident/incident investigations and carries out analysis of accident/incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvements

  • Can present findings to local and global leadership teams with compelling evidence to support recommendations

  • Conducts safety audits both internally and externally

  • Provides safety support and advice, including supervision of the preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start-up activities

What you need: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or related field

  • Experience supporting a Radiation Safety Program

  • 6+ years of experience in EHS in a commercial/MedTech environment. Industry certifications such as NOBOSH, ASP, CSP, CHMM a plus

  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and experience working with regulatory agencies

  • Be adept at working under pressure and demonstrate the ability to confidently make decisions with incomplete or conflicting data applying sound judgment and good reasoning skills

  • High proficiency with standard office programs such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Ability to manipulate, analyze, and summarize data to provide key insights and develop strategic and tactical plans

  • Interact and support at all organizational levels, both internal and external to the company.  Work effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to add value to the organization

  • Collect and analyze data using commercial and in-house platforms.  Effectively communicate information to verify compliance and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Develop and implement EHS programs, strategies, and standards based on global and local needs

  • Conduct EHS assessments and facilitate assurance processes for commercial locations
