The Job's Mission  

The Instruments Europe division consists of the following Business Units: Orthopaedics Instruments, Surgical Technologies, Neurosurgical, CMF, ENT and IVS and is expected to be a high growth business as we create new market opportunities and gain market share. Within the instruments division we have an exciting commercial finance role to support a various Business units and Regions, this role will be key to define and support the growth strategy of the BU and region. 

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the financial management of the BU within Stryker Europe. You will have  responsibility for all financial aspects of business unit, expected to provide financial analysis and implement recommendations based on findings. This role will have the support and report to the Instruments Divisional finance director. There will be opportunities for fast development in line with the business growth. 

This role requires a strong partnership with various stakeholders in a matrix organization, including the (US) divisional finance, sales & marketing teams, as well as Stryker local finance, Poland Finance Center and the Core FP&A team. In addition this role provides the opportunity to collaborate cross divisional. 

 

Key Activities & Accountabilities   

  • Formulating Financial Strategies: Work with business unit leadership to grow the business by creating appropriate financial strategies and plans and support the identification of market opportunities. 

  • Budgeting and Financial Projections: Lead and manage the annual budgeting and monthly financial projection processes, collaborating closely with the FP&A analyst to submit all divisional forecasts. 

  • Financial Integration: Facilitate the financial integration of acquired entities in cooperation with local teams and the Amsterdam finance center. 

  • Month-End Close Process: Direct the month-end close process, combined with the preparation of financial reports and fiscal records. 

  • Analyzing Financial Results: Prepare and interpret operating results, analyze variances between actual and expected financial results, participate in EU Flash reviews, and present monthly financials to Divisional management. 

  • Compliance and Policies: Partner with EU Finance to implement accounting guidelines and ensure compliance with all company policies, financial laws, and regulations within the business unit. 

  • Sales Analysis: Analyze sales trends, flag opportunities and risks, and create actionable insights for sales leadership. 

  • Collaboration and Partnership: Build and develop a strong environment of collaboration and partnership with Country teams, Europe FP&A, and Transatlantic teams in the U.S. 

 

 Your profile :  

  • Degree and Qualifications: Degree in Finance or Business-related subjects; an accounting qualification (e.g., CPA or CMA) is highly preferred. 

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in spoken and written English; any other European language is a plus. 

  • Technical Knowledge: Mandatory knowledge of Oracle systems and HFM; strong skills in Excel; Power BI knowledge is a plus. 

  • Experience: Over 5+ years of related experience with excellent analytical skills. 

  • Communication Skills: Good written and interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships. 

  • Organizational and Time Management: Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities. 

  • Financial and Analytical Skills: Strong accounting knowledge, financial reporting, and report analysis capabilities. 

  • Commercial and Decision-Making Abilities: Commercial focus, financial acumen, and the ability to routinely make decisions that affect immediate operations.
