Job description
This role focuses on maintaining infrastructure, coordinating technical activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. You will work independently, applying technical expertise to sustain operations across production and facility systems.
What you will do
- Execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on utilities and facility equipment (e.g., HVAC, compressed air, electrical systems) to maintain >98% system uptime
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical components such as motors, pumps, conveyors, and control systems using schematics and testing tools
- Monitor and maintain operating parameters within defined control limits; initiate corrective actions when deviations occur
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment failures; document findings and actions in maintenance systems (e.g., Maximo)
- Inspect installations and maintenance work to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and safety codes
- Coordinate and oversee contractors during maintenance activities, equipment installations, and facility shutdowns
- Maintain spare parts inventory and identify replacement components through equivalency analysis to support maintenance plans
- Participate in deviation investigations and propose improvements to increase energy efficiency and system reliability
What you will need
Required
- Minimum technical degree (Associate or Bachelor’s) in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, facilities, or utilities support
- Bilingual proficiency: English and Spanish
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints
- Knowledge of industrial systems including HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, and water systems
- Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
Preferred
- Knowledge of PLC systems, servomotors, transformers, and switchgear
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals)
Additional Information
- Schedule: May require rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform medium physical work
- Work conditions: Exposure to controlled, classified environments with mandatory PPE and adherence to safety and hygiene protocols
- Travel: Minimal; may include occasional coordination with external vendors or contractors
Pay Transparency Details:
- Puerto Rico: $69,500 - $110,900 USD Annual
