Job description
Minimum Requirements:
General:
- Preferably: RSA Citizen
Education:
- Preferably: Higher Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NOSA SAMTRAC or equivalent).
Experience:
- Preferably experience in facilities management, health and safety, or a related field.
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic knowledge of workplace risk assessment and hazard identification.
Key Competencies:
- Ability to manage administrative tasks efficiently, including documentation and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Confidence in communicating and negotiating with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Health and Safety Management:
- Manage CRICE training for staff.
- Assist in developing and implementing safety management system.
- Support health and safety audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring.
- Conduct risk assessments and maintain accurate safety records.
Procurement and Financial Tasks:
- Receive and evaluate quotes from suppliers.
- Open Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely follow-up.
- Communicate with suppliers to clarify requirements and timelines.
- Receive and manage invoices for payment processing.
Facilities Duties:
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify defects and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Assist event organizers with office setups, ensuring requirements are met efficiently.
- Manage office stock and supplies, including procurement and inventory control.
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and servicing of equipment and infrastructure.
- Ensure the workspace remains organized, clean, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications/Attributes:
- Additional certifications in first aid, fire safety, or environmental management are a plus.
- Experience with procurement processes and supplier management.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development in the health and safety field.
