Job description

JOB TITLE: Environmental Health & Safety Co-Op Placement 2025

This position will provide you, as part of your college studies, the experience of working in a regulated medical device company. You will join the EHS team and work cross functionally with all areas of the site to drive EHS standards. Throughout the placement, you will be an integral part of Stryker’s 2025 Cooperative cohort.

Tasks and responsibilities may include:

  • Provide support to the team and department by assisting with day-to-day activities as required.

  • Help identify health & safety issues, assist with investigations and corrective actions.

  • Work with the team to build employee engagement.

  • Ensure adherence with Safety, Quality, Service and Financial systems.

  • Perform EHS day to day safety routines including safety observations, near misses, ergonomic and risk assessments.

  • Work as part of the 6S team to ensure compliance.

  • The Co-Op Student, together with their Stryker Team Leader, identifies a process improvement project.

  • Identify the project charter, objectives, scope, success factors, milestones, and evaluation metrics.

  • Implement the process improvement project and meets the specified objectives and milestones.

  • Involve other key stakeholders and facilitates project meetings effectively.

  • Communicate project updates and presents at the relevant project review forums.

  • Effectively adapt to practically working in a workplace by being dependable, dependable, punctual, initiative-taking, hardworking, organised and a team-player.

To be eligible:

  • You must be currently pursuing a degree in an Environmental Health & Safety discipline

  • You must have a valid work permit to take up an internship in Ireland

  • You must be enrolled in an Irish University/College for the duration of the internship
