Job description

Who we want:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead cross-functional engineering projects from initiation through implementation. In this role, you will manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and execution while coordinating efforts across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and other key functions. You will identify and resolve project challenges, drive recovery plans when needed, communicate progress and risks to stakeholders, and partner with external vendors and contractors to ensure project objectives are achieved.

The ideal candidate brings strong project management expertise, the ability to navigate complex technical and operational challenges, and a proven track record of driving cross-functional teams to successful outcomes.

What you will do:

  • Lead cross-functional engineering projects from initiation through implementation, including development of the project charter, scope, objectives, deliverables, and overall project management plan.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop business cases, including project justification, costs, expected benefits, resource requirements, risks, and ROI to support prioritization and investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to understand complex engineering challenges, translate technical information into actionable project plans, and communicate risks, impacts, options, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Define and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and forecasts; evaluate changes and tradeoffs; communicate impacts to cost, resources, timelines, and business objectives; and drive recovery plans when projects deviate from plan.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues; develop mitigation and contingency plans; and escalate critical concerns with recommended actions when leadership support is required.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Validation, Sourcing, and other functions, securing resources and establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and deliverables.
  • Manage external vendors, contractors, and procurement partners to ensure technical, quality, cost, and schedule commitments are achieved and vendor-related issues are resolved.
  • Partner with Quality and project teams to establish and maintain project quality and validation plans in compliance with applicable quality systems.
  • Develop and execute communication and stakeholder engagement strategies to maintain alignment, incorporate feedback throughout the project lifecycle, and effectively communicate project updates, decisions, risks, and business impacts.
  • Build strong relationships and influence without direct authority to drive accountability, resolve conflict, and achieve project objectives.
  • Exercise sound judgment by evaluating risks, benefits, and tradeoffs to make effective decisions and recommendations in complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Align project priorities and execution plans with broader business objectives and organizational goals.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset with the ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and assume additional responsibilities as needed.
