Job description
This role supports day-to-day manufacturing execution by leading injection molding mold changeovers, start-ups, and technical troubleshooting in a regulated, cleanroom environment. You coordinate with production teams to keep equipment, molds, and automation running to approved standards while maintaining accurate documentation and a safe workplace.
What You Will Do
- Perform mold changeovers and start-ups based on production priorities, coordinating with production support roles before initiating set-ups.
- Install molds and complete machine set-ups to approved procedures, including line clearance, product identification, and first-piece inspection.
- Adjust process parameters to approved master cycles and verify stable operation; optimize settings to maintain efficient runs.
- Program molding machine sequences and execute complex robot programming (teach-in, pickers, servo robots) to support production.
- Develop and modify end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) and troubleshoot automation and auxiliary systems (dryers, resin feed, peripherals).
- Diagnose and report issues with molds, machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment; initiate maintenance work orders in the maintenance system when required.
- Maintain updated process and set-up documentation and complete daily manufacturing reports for traceability and compliance.
- Lead lean workplace organization activities (6S) and train operators and set-up personnel to standardize safe, effective set-up practices.
What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of experience performing injection molding mold changeovers (set-ups) and process support in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience troubleshooting injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment in production.
- Experience programming and troubleshooting automation (pickers and/or servo robots).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
- Working knowledge of regulated manufacturing requirements (ISO, FDA, QSR, GMP) and safety standards (OSHA).
- Basic to intermediate CAD experience (for tooling/EOAT support).
- Basic to intermediate PLC programming knowledge.
- Math proficiency for set-up and process adjustments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent technical training/experience).
Pay rate will not be below any applicable local minimum wage rates.
United States of America Pay Ranges:
- Puerto Rico: $17.28 - $25.23 USD Hourly
