This is an initial 12 month FTC position based in Stryker R&D's NeuroHub, Model Farm Rd, Cork.
Position Summary
The Neurovascular Stroke Market is continuing to go through huge growth, driven by developments in new products to improve clinical outcomes, treat more patients and save lives.
We are hiring a R&D Engineer to join our team and play a key role in launching new products to treat stroke. Prior experience working on developing minimally invasive medical devices and/or associated processing technologies is not necessary but would be advantageous.

What You will Do:
The R&D Engineer will work with team of engineers and technicians to develop the relevant processes and technologies required to launch new products.
- Working cross-functionally will be a key part of the role in order to facilitate successful launches of new neurovascular devices to treat stroke.
- Executes the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
- Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input.
- Designs/procures tooling, fixtures and equipment.
- Writes validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes (e.g. Equipment, Process).
- Ensure proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements. (e.g., BOM’s, Routers, FMEA’s, etc.)
- You should be able to apply engineering and scientific rationale along with the application of methodical problem solving and data analysis techniques to provide direction to address technical issues.

What you need:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
- 6+ months of work experience
- Excels at problem solving (Ability to work through each problem, use case, etc., and find the root cause, then provide potential solutions; methodical 4D/DMAIC).
- Self-Starter/Autonomous
- A good analytic and mathematics understanding
- Experience of Microsoft Power Apps (Microsoft Power BI, etc)
- Self-Starter/Autonomous

- Good communication skills
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams (Quality, Manufacturing. Project Managers etc.)
