Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

·   Lead end-to-end CDC 1 operations, including receiving, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, value-added services, and shipping.

·   Ensure inbound and outbound operations meet safety, quality, service, accuracy, and delivery expectations.

·   Identify constraints, manage escalations, and maintain effective routines for peak periods, launches, and disruptions.

Third-Party Logistics Management

·   Manage 3PL relationships, service-level expectations, performance scorecards, and escalation processes.

·   Hold providers accountable for safety, quality, delivery, cost, staffing, productivity, and contractual commitments.

·   Partner with Procurement, Finance, Quality, and Legal on commercial reviews, corrective actions, and improvement plans.

Value-Added Services

·   Oversee applicable labeling, packaging, kitting, configuration, inspection, rework, and other product-specific services.

·   Ensure services are properly planned, staffed, documented, and executed to approved quality and work-instruction requirements.

·   Evaluate new requests and improve capacity, cost, quality, and turnaround time.

Cost, Productivity, and Budget Management

·   Develop and manage the operating budget, forecasts, financial controls, and cost-reduction commitments.

·   Improve labor, space, equipment, packaging, transportation, and 3PL productivity without compromising safety, quality, or service.

·   Prepare business cases for capital, automation, technology, and facility investments.

Strategic Planning and Growth

·   Develop multi-year capacity and operating plans based on volume, product mix, inventory, acquisitions, and business growth.

·   Assess labor, storage, dock, equipment, technology, and throughput requirements and maintain a prioritized improvement roadmap.

·   Develop contingency and business-continuity plans for operational, facility, technology, labor, and transportation risks.

Safety, Quality, Inventory, and Compliance

·   Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, quality-system requirements, work instructions, trade requirements, and regulatory obligations.

·   Maintain effective inventory accuracy, traceability, cycle-counting, discrepancy-resolution, and product-handling controls.

·   Partner with Safety and Quality teams on audits, investigations, corrective actions, and risk reduction.

Continuous Improvement and Technology

·   Use data, root-cause analysis, Lean principles, standard work, and performance metrics to improve flow and eliminate waste.

·   Sponsor improvements to safety, quality, service, productivity, inventory accuracy, storage density, and customer experience.

·   Ensure warehouse systems, reporting, automation, and material-handling solutions support scalable operations.

People Leadership and Communication

·   Build, coach, and develop a high-performing CDC leadership team with clear accountability and succession plans.

·   Ensure appropriate staffing, training, cross-training, engagement, and workforce planning.

·   Communicate performance, priorities, risks, and recovery plans to senior leaders and cross-functional partners.

Education and Experience

·   Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field required; master's degree preferred.

·   Ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in warehousing, distribution, supply chain, logistics, or related operations.

·   Demonstrated experience leading large-scale operations and managing 3PL performance, budgets, service levels, and strategic plans.

·   Experience with warehouse management systems, operational reporting, capital planning, and continuous improvement.

·   Medical-device or other regulated-industry experience preferred.

·   Strong leadership, financial, analytical, negotiation, communication, and change-management skills.

Key Success Measures

·   Safety, quality, compliance, and inventory accuracy.

·   Inbound processing, outbound delivery, order-cycle time, and customer service.

·   Budget performance, validated cost savings, labor productivity, and 3PL service levels.

·   Capacity readiness, value-added service performance, employee development, and completion of strategic initiatives.
