The Director of Financial Compliance manages and appraises operating results in terms of sales, operating profit, budgets, projections, trends and profit opportunities. Will manage business accounting practices, the maintenance of fiscal records and the preparation of financial reports. Financial partner to business leaders, enabling the business strategy and objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Acts as strategic business partner for the Division, representing the finance function across the Shared functions.
- Prepares and interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of progress toward financial objectives in annual budgets, projections and strategic plans.
- Manages and/or administers any or all of the following activities general accounting, cost accounting, internal auditing, forms control and records retention programs.
- Will complete timely and accurate business unit financials.
- Partners with cross-functional business leaders to drive financial strategy to enable business strategies, goals and outcomes.
- Directs staff and COE supervision over consolidation, reporting and general accounting.
- Consult with the Group in researching, assessing and documenting accounting conclusions on complex accounting matters
- Review Corporate Finance Policy drafts and provide feedback to Group to ensure policies are developed to align with practical operational capabilities and Divisional requirements.
- Work to resolve audit matters timely.
- Maintain Division Sharepoint library of annual SOX narratives and accounting position memos.
- Prepares and interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the progress.
- Sets overall departmental goals and priorities and evaluates subordinate’s performance based on those goals and priorities.
- Is responsible for complying with Sarbanes-Oxley and all other applicable financial laws and regulations, company policies and corrective actions.
- Proactively work to develop talent on your team, providing coaching and development opportunities for direct reports.
- Provide/facilitate training of finance persons within the division.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- CPA or CMA preferred
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- CPA or CMA preferred
- 10+ years relevant experience required.
- Big 4 experience preferred.
- Fluency in English required.
- Ability to work independently, capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong ability to coordinate action across dispersed workforce and highly matrixed organization.
- Strong written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management.
- Demonstration of effective leadership, interpersonal, and strategic planning skills necessary to interact and influence senior management in both Finance and the business.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
