Job description
What you will do:
The Collections Manager will report to the Sr. Collections Manager and is responsible for leading the collections team, handling issues, training, staffing, and implementing policies. They will focus on optimizing cash collections in the Americas, achieving DSO targets, and improving the A/R Aging profile. Additionally, they will recommend process improvements, and act as a central point for de-escalating invoice-to-cash issues.
Participate in recruitment and selection processes, along with team development initiatives
Optimize collections, reporting, and data analytics while fostering a strong, team-oriented staff and managing internal customer relationships.
Play a key role in the work migration activities from other Stryker locations, including knowledge transfer and documentation activities
Build strong relationships with internal and external customers through effective negotiation and collaboration with customer-facing teams. Travel as needed to meet key stakeholders and resolve significant collection issues.
Collaborate with order-to-cash partners to enhance accuracy, minimize disputes, and manage customer refund processes.
Ensure accurate customer master data and document critical business processes to support effective and efficient execution.
Develop, measure, and distribute performance and efficiency-driven metrics while providing senior management with regular updates on KPIs, analysis, and trends.
Collaborate with audit teams to enforce policies while ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies, US GAAP, and local regulations.
Performs other related work as assigned by management
What you need:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
8+ years of relevant working experience in Collections in a matrixed international company (preferably a Multinational Company) with complex reporting practices and exposure to various reporting systems.
Minimum of 4 years of managerial experience, with a proven track record in managing high-value portfolios.
Thorough knowledge of collections-related laws.
SAP systems knowledge and MS Office Suite.
Fluent in spoken and written English (C1).
Be willing to periodically travel to customer sites.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of credit reporting agencies (Experian, D+B).
