Work Location: 1941 Stryker Way, Portage, MI

Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Summary:

The CAD Specialist prepares and maintains detailed design drawings, schematics or specifications typically using computer-aided design software, and works closely with design originators (e.g., engineers, designers) to resolve design details or discrepancies or to prepare drawings of unusual, complex or original designs which require a high degree of precision using computer-aided drafting (CAD) or computer-aided engineering (CAE) equipment. Additionally, the specialist creates, modifies and controls detailed two- and three-dimensional parts and assembly drawings from engineers' and technicians' sketches, plans and written and verbal instructions, and develops and maintains drafting standards and procedures. Evaluates and recommends purchase of CAD/CAE-related computer hardware and software.

What You Will Do:

  • Digitize, edit, and revise computerized graphics of component parts, subassemblies and final assemblies.
  • Coordinate with others to ensure dimensions on drawings are accurate and complete.
  • Complete basic maintenance programming for CAD file management.
  • Design basic or narrowly defined components.
  • Write engineering change orders and help with blueprint filing system.
  • Transfer and translate drawings from one computer system to another.
  • Execute routing design projects, to include stack up analysis, part design, and related tasks.
  • Assist in print transfers related to product line acquisitions.

What You Need:

Required:

  • A.A.S. in CAD or related design engineering curriculum or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ related design & design software experience
