Job description
As a Backline Engineer at Stryker, you will spearhead the resolution of complex technical issues while collaborating closely with both the Critical Incident Team and engineering. This role requires deep technical knowledge and the ability to guide the technical support team through challenging technical escalations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technical problem solving and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
What you will do:
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the lead technical expert within the support team, addressing the most complex product issues with a strategic approach to troubleshooting.
- Critical Incident Collaboration: Work closely with the Critical Incident Team to efficiently address high-severity issues, ensuring minimal impact on customer operations and support delivery.
- Engineering Escalations: Oversee and streamline the process of escalating issues to engineering, facilitating quick and effective solutions to technical challenges.
- Backlog Guidance: Provide expert advice and intervention for cases that are stalled in the backlog due to their complexity or unique nature, ensuring they are resolved efficiently.
- Knowledge Sharing: Conduct regular training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities with the Delivery team based on insights and learnings from backline operations.
- Feedback Loop: Engage regularly with trainers, delivery teams, and managers to gather feedback on areas requiring further training and support, using this information to inform continuous improvement efforts.
What you need:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a technical support or engineering role, with a proven track record in problem-solving complex technical issues.
Preferred
- Strong understanding of support processes and escalation management.
- Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with training or knowledge transfer.
