We’re seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to support the deployment of our Vocera communication solutions across hospitals in Australia and New Zealand.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with an IT background who is early in their career and passionate about systems, problem-solving and improving the way clinical teams communicate and deliver care.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, clinicians and IT teams to deliver impactful implementations that enhance communication, workflow efficiency and patient outcomes.

This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney, and includes travel across Australia (up to 60% at times).

What You’ll Do

  • Support the planning, installation, configuration and validation of Vocera communication systems

  • Work closely with clinical and IT teams to understand workflows and system requirements

  • Assist in integrating Vocera with hospital technologies such as nurse call systems, patient monitoring, EHRs and telephony platforms

  • Participate in on-site wireless network assessments and support optimisation for voice-grade performance

  • Deliver training and support to customer IT teams and end users

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to continuous system improvement

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth, high-quality implementations

  • Build your technical capability across healthcare systems integration and infrastructure

  • Maintain the highest standards of data security and confidentiality.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for potential, curiosity and a willingness to learn - you don’t need to have everything listed in 'preferred'.

Required:

  • Degree in Computer Science/IT or related field

  • 1-2 years relevant experience

Preferred:

  • Healthcare IT / Systems Integration

  • HL7, ADT workflows

  • Nurse Call, Patient Monitoring or clinical systems

  • VoIP / Telephony / PBX

  • Wireless / Wi‑Fi networks (Ekahau highly regarded)

  • Windows Server, Linux or virtual environments (VMware / vCenter)

  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark)

  • Middleware or load balancing technologies
