Job description

What you will do:

  • Conduct market research on industry size, key players, customer segments, company size, revenue, upcoming technologies, and SWOT analysis to support supplier sourcing.

  • Identify, establish communication, assess and build new suppliers in Best Cost Country locations for key strategic categories (machining, forging, plastics, electronics, sheet metal etc.) supporting Stryker’s global manufacturing network.

  • Assess supplier capabilities across manufacturing, quality, cost, reliability, and compliance; support in presenting site assessment outcomes and recommendations to internal SGTC and global teams; and build commodity-specific supplier pipelines.

  • Lead the RFQ process by developing and issuing RFQs, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams. Support in managing technical assessments, conducting commercial evaluations, leveraging should cost analysis and preparing presentations for internal stakeholders.

  • Support in defining and implementing sourcing strategies supported by sourcing analysis, should-cost, and make-vs-buy analysis to achieve cost and operational efficiencies.

  • Develop supply base by building strategic relationships supporting Stryker business for India based suppliers.

  • Work closely with cross functional team of AO, manufacturing, quality, R&D, finance, legal, Global Sourcing etc.

  • Coordinate on-site supplier evaluations with a cross-functional team, participate in supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Negotiate, establish, monitor, and enforce supplier contracts and agreements.

  • Lead and collaborate with internal teams to onboard suppliers into the Stryker system.

  • Manage supplier deliverables and internal requirements to facilitate product transfers.

  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to gather data on cost, freight, tariffs, etc., for RFQ analysis

What you will need:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electronics engineering, supply management or related field

  • Minimum 8 years applicable sourcing, supplier development, or supply chain experience.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Preferred qualification:

  • Proven track record of identifying and building supplier base for medical device industry with knowledge of ISO 13485 standards.

  • Experience of strategic sourcing and supplier development best practices.

  • Demonstrated excellence in contractual negotiations and administration to obtain best prices and terms on products, materials and services.

  • Strong knowledge of key categories such as metals (machining & forgings), plastics, electronics, and others.

  • Experience of managing suppliers in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications, e.g. MS Office Suite, ERPs.

  • Demonstrated experience in presenting to and influencing others.
