Job description

As the Associate Manager, RISE you will provide overall direction to direct reports as related to process development and control for new and existing processes/products.

What is RISE?: The Rotational Intensive Specialized Experience (RISE) Program. The program is 2 years and includes 4 six-month rotations and is designed specifically for highly talented engineers who are looking for exposure to and experience in different disciplines of engineering. Participants will be immersed into new product development (design engineering), quality, product testing, simulation and so much more. Each individuals’ rotations are tailored to fit their passion and skill sets along with current business needs. RISE engineers will not only gain a broad knowledge of our Research & Development functions but will also have the opportunity to attend additional leadership and personal development trainings, seminars and product labs. The RISE Engineering program also offers exposure to senior leadership with end of rotation presentations, townhalls and small group forums. Upon successful completion of the program, participants are eligible to apply to any open roles within Stryker.

You will need to live within commuting distance to our Portage, MI office with expectations to be in the office 4 days a week.

What you will do

  • Will coordinate scheduling of rotations of engineering personnel.
  • Evaluates the performance of the direct reports based on pre-established performance parameters
  • ​Will coach and develop direct reports
  • Responsible for direct reports complying with company policies and corrective actions
  • Responsible for aligning strategies with business units needs and projections
  • May have personal contact with customers
  • Will assist with interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and engaging top talent while ensuring a pipeline of talent is established for future roles

What you need

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required (engineering degree is preferred)
  • 6+ years of relevant experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience effectively communicating with large groups of people
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/facilitate problem solving teams
  • Management experience with direct reports -or- leadership experience of some capacity
