As an Associate Manager, R&D Engineering you’ll support the Product Engineering team by leading a high-performing team, drive innovation, and shape the future of medical technology. This is a hybrid position based in Portage, MI; candidates must live within commuting distance and be onsite 4 days per week.

What You Will Do 

  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering growth, engagement, and retention. 
  • Drive project execution by planning, budgeting, and staffing initiatives to meet business goals. 
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by overseeing technical documentation and design controls. 
  • Influence cross-functional teams and senior leaders through clear, effective communication. 
  • Promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, and belonging in hiring and team development. 
  • Manage cost center budgets, including forecasting and tracking financial performance. 
  • Mentor team members in technical disciplines and performance management practices. 

What You Will Need 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field. 
  • Minimum six years of relevant professional experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor others in a technical environment. 
  • Experience managing projects with defined budgets and timelines. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in people management or performance coaching. 
  • Familiarity with the healthcare or medical device industry. 
  • Proven ability to deliver programs on time, within scope and budget. 
  • Knowledge of stakeholder engagement practices.

    $102,600 - $171,000 USD Annual
