Job description
The Professional Relations Associate Manager is a strategic, relationship-focused role responsible for managing third-party requests for in-kind and financial support across Stryker’s Neurosurgical and Enabling Technologies businesses. This position serves as a key point of contact for external organizations—including medical societies, universities, educational programs, and healthcare professionals—seeking support from Stryker.
This role balances strong relationship management, clinical and product knowledge, and rigorous compliance execution. The Associate Manager works cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and divisional partners to ensure requests are evaluated thoughtfully, processed efficiently, and aligned with Stryker’s business objectives, compliance standards, and mission: Together with our customers, we are driven to make healthcare better.
What you will do:
- Manage end-to-end Professional Relations request workflows from intake through committee review and post-approval execution
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation across all systems and files
- Communicate clearly and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders
- Balance strategic thinking with tactical execution in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Analyze non-routine or complex requests and recommend appropriate paths forward
- Build credibility through strong interpersonal skills, responsiveness, and subject-matter expertise
- Operate independently while collaborating closely within a cross-divisional team structure
- Manage and validate logistical details and equipment requirements for Third-Party Educational Conferences (TPECs), ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance across all supported programs.
- Technical/Procedure Insight - Demonstrates technical expertise to facilitate HCP medical education programs, including driving the agenda and content
- Market Insights - Knows the market positioning and strengths/weaknesses of key competitors.
- Customer Engagement - Collaborate with key opinion leaders to design and facilitate educational materials.
- Program Design - Responsible for developing and managing customer-facing strategy, content, and education programs. Conduct ongoing evaluation of training programs, including recommendations for improvement. Defines key learning objectives forthe training curriculum. Collaborate with key stakeholders
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams - Drive 3rd party contract negotiations. Coordinate program design and objectives with faculty.
- Project Management - Coordinate program design and objectives with faculty.
- Training Delivery - Active role in education program management through on-site leadership and engaging with HCP & SYK customers, develop, facilitate and/or participate in training for sales and/or Marketing employees.
- Effectiveness Measurement - Analyzes metrics and appraises the effectiveness of education methods, costs, and results. Engage and query the key stakeholders to ensure appropriate educational program utilization.
- Strategic Vision - Engage and query the key stakeholders to ensure appropriate educational program utilization.
- Budgets/P&L - Defines performance criteria used for evaluating business trends and activities. Prepares and reviews charts, graphs, tables, and other tools to reflect business performance. Researches business-related data and generates and interprets basic analytics.
- KOL Management - Develops a network of key opinion leaders (KOL) to support platform offerings and assists in developing a communication strategy for the target customer audience. Recommend and implement plans for medical education commercialization, voice of customer, and onsite programs
- Organizational Capabilities - Recommend and implement plans for medical education commercialization, voice of customer, and onsite programs
- Customer/Business Centric Development - Maintain awareness of developing trends in medical education and appropriately adjust program content and instructional design. Manage current educational resources and develop new tools/platforms for product training events and workshops to enhance the quality of education and training.
- Brand Stewardship - Cascade divisional/medical education branding and strategy. Support and implement new Medical Education branding to drive excellence in our industry
- Communication Planning - Create content and messaging in partnership with Marketing Communications and utilize the most effective platform. Share input on Medical Education Communication strategy
What you need (Required):
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years of professional experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
Preferred:
- 3+ years of medical device or Medical Education experience
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills
- Clinical knowledge around procedures within spine or neurosurgical
$89,300- $193,400 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
