Job description

Stryker is seeking to hire an Associate Manager, Product Development to support Stryker’s Joint Replacement division. This role is hybrid, located in Mahwah, New Jersey.

What You Will Do

Within our Joint Replacement division, the Associate Manager, Product Development will support our Hip Business Unit. You are responsible for projects that ensure business continuity on commercial products, improve value, and resolve any performance-related issues. You will provide technical guidance and direction to a team of R&D Engineers. This business-critical role requires close collaboration with Product Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Design Assurance, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations to quickly and efficiently resolve post-launch technical issues that impact customer satisfaction, patient safety, and support growth and market expansion.

  • Collaborate with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability
  • Support the team in utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings
  • Lead a team of R&D Engineers to execute technical projects on business continuity, value improvement, compliance, or emergent high-risk projects on commercialized products
  • Understand Change Management and work on Medical Device Design Control and Risk Management
  • Provide R&D support for capacity increase, continuous improvement, or cost reduction goals
  • Support your team as they design, develop, execute, and evaluate fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans

What You Need

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering, Science, or a related field of study
  • 6+ years of experience in the medical device or a related industry
  • Demonstrated ability to apply design control within a regulated industry

Recommended

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex product development initiatives from concept through release
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a parametric CAD design package such as Pro E or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and interpret GD&T
  • Demonstrated understanding of GMP’s and various manufacturing processes

$100,500 - $215,300 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors
